Kerala Special Beef curry


Ingredients

  1. Beef -1 kg cubed
  2. Ginger 2 inch piece
  3. Garlic hand full
  4. Greenchilly-3
  5. French Shallots big 4- chopped
  6. Red Onion/Savala-2 thinly chopped
  7. Turmeric 1 tsp
  8. Coriander powder -4 tsp
  9. Chilli powder-3/4 tsp
  10. Pepper powder-1 tsp
  11. Fennel powder-1 1/2 tsp
  12. Garam masala-1 1/2 tsp
  13. Tomato 2 Roma
  14. Curry leaves - 2spring
  15. Oil- used coconut oil
  16. Salt- As required

How To make It 

  • Wash  Cubed Beef pieces and pressure cook with some ginger slices,ground pepper and turmeric
  •  On a thick bottom pan,Add oil and Saute the Ginger ,garlic and greenchilly
  • Add Onions,both shallots and red onion to the pan with some salt and wait until the onions become translucent by stirring occasionally
  •  Add All the spices and saute the mixture for 5-10 minutes.Make sure the spice mix does not get burnt.Tip to this is to make sure you are on low heat and you can close the pan and stir every 2-3 minutes in between
  • Add the tomato and let the mixture cook for anothe 10-15 mins.Make sure you sir occassionally.Same as step above
  • Once the oil starts separating from the mixture,Or the spice mix becomes shiny you are good to add cooked beef with its gravy,curry leaves and let it cook for another 5 mins
  • Serve with chapati,porotta,Appam,Bread or Rice 

Note

  The Taste of the curry depends on how well the spice mix is cooked,So make sure the spice mix is cooked very well and raw taste of the spices is gone
