Appam with no Coconut

Ingredients
  • Patna Rice(Pachari) -2cups
  • White Poha-1/2 cup
  • Salt-1tbsp
  • Sugar- 4 tbsp
  • Yeast(instant) -1/2 tsp
  • Water -as needed 


Method

  • Soak rice after washing thoroughly for 4 hours ..
    Soak poha in 1 cup water
  • Then after 4 hours  first grind poha ..Here I didn’t  add extra water to grind poha.Transfer this batter  to a big container ..
  • Then grind rice by adding enough water..Grind to  fine paste .Then pour that too to the container ..
  • Add the yeast half way through the grinding procedure 
  • Finally add salt,sugar  and mix thoroughly The batter should be thick .. 
  • Heat a pan preferably nonstick and pour in the fermented batter and make appams based on your desired size 
  •  Soft and fluffy appam is ready.
