Shrimp/prawn curry with coconut milk


Ingredients

Prawns/Shrimp -500 gms
Onions finely chopped -2 cups
Ginger/Garlic paste - 1 tsp
Tomatoes -1/2 cup chopped
Green chillies - 2 slit
Salt -As required
Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp
Red chilly Powder- 2 tsp
Coriander Powder - 1/4 tsp
Cumin Powder - 1/4 tsp
Garam Masala - 1/2 tsp
Coconut milk - 1 cup
Oil -2tbsp
Boiled water -1/4 cup

Preparation

  1. Heat up a thick bottom pan on medium heat
  2. Add oil, add chopped onions and salt  to it.
  3. Saute the onions until translucent.
  4. Add green chilly slits and ginger garlic paste.Saute for 2 minutes.
  5. Add chopped tomatoes and saute for 5 minutes.
  6. Add turmeric powder,chilly powder,coriander powder and cumin powder.Saute until raw smell of spices disappear.
  7. Add boiled water to the mixture and saute for 2-3 minutes.
  8. Add cleaned prawns/shrimp and let it cook for 2 minutes on medium heat.
  9. Add coconut milk and let it come to boil on medium heat.
  10. Sprinkle garam masala and turn off the heat.

Serve hot with rice,Tortilla,Chapati etc
