Unakka Erachi/Cook sundried beef


Ingredients

Sun dried beef - 120 grams shredded
Coconut oil -3 tbsp
Onion - 3 medium chopped finely
Ginger chopped -3tsp
Garlic chopped -6 big pods
dried red chilly flakes-3 tsp
Pepper powder -1 tsp
Garam masala -1/2 tsp
Curry leaves - 2 spring(10 leaves)

Preparation

  • Shred sun dried beef- I shred the pounded beef in a way that fits in my small bowl of mixer and use pulse to shred it to be thin strands to cook efficiently.
  • Heat a wide open thick bottom pan.Add the oil and let it heat up
  • Add chopped onion,saute until the onions become soft and translucent.
  • Add chopped ginger,garlic and cook for 10 minus stirring occasionally
  • Add all the spices and fry for 10 minutes.At the end the spice mix should be shiny which makes oil appear and the raw smell should disappear
  • Now add shredded sun dried beef and cook until the dried beef is cokked well and dry
  • Add curry leaves and taste test for the salt.Add extra salt if needed.
Note:
As beef is sun dried adding salt to the meat to preserve for longer time,make sure to taste test and add salt accordingly when cooking it.
