Ingredients
Lemon-15 medium sized or 10 Large
Chilli Powder-3tbsp
Kashmiri Chilli Powder-1tbsp
Turmeric powder-1/4tsp
Asafoetida powder-1/4tsp
Fenugreek Powder -1/4tsp
Ginger-1 big piece
Garlic-15 cloves
Green chilli-6-10
Curryleaves -4 strings
Vinegar-1/4cup
Salt- as needed
Dates-20 Pitted
Hot Water-11/2cup
Instructions
Prep work:
Wash the lemon and dry them with a clean cloth.
Cut each of them into 8-10 pieces .
Add the cut lemon to an airtight container
Add 3 tbsp of salt into that and close the jar..
Mix well by shaking the jar
Keep the container aside,shake once a day for 21 days or until lemon become soft.
Preparation:
- Heat oil in the pan,splutter mustard seeds and fenugreek seeds.
- When Step1 ingredients splutter ,add garlic slices ,Ginger slices,green chilly and curry leaves
- Saute for few minutes and add turmeric powder .
- Lower the flame and add fenugreek powder,asafoetida powder and red chilly powder .
- Saute for just few seconds on low heat
- Add vinegar
- Cut each date into 2-3 pieces .
- Add the dates and hot water .
- Boil well,turn off the heat and let it cool down.
- Once cooled, add Lemon and mix well .. Check the salt
