Green peas curry

 

Ingredients

  • Dried green peas -1 1/2 cup or 250gm soaked for atleast 4 hours
  • cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • Onions - 1 large or 150gm chopped 
  • Green chilly -1
  • Tomato-1 or 60gm medium
  • Red chilly powder - 1.5 tsp
  • Coriander powder - 3.5tsp
  • cumin powder - 1/2 tsp
  • turmeric powder -1/4 tsp
  • garam masala - 1/4 tsp
  • Water as needed
  • oil - 2bsp or 10gm

Preparation: 

  • Method Soak green peas 4 hours ,wash well and drain 
  • In a pressure cooker  cook green peas on medium until a whisle blows.Turn off and wait for pressure to release.
  • Add oil , splutter some cumin seeds,saute garlic.once aroma changes add onion,garlic and green chilly 
  • Once onion turns translucent,add spices and saute for some time.M
  • Add tomato and cook for another 3 minutes
  • Add cooked green peas . 
  • Boil the curry for 10 minutes on low heat.
  • Add diced tomato and cilantro to garnish.
  • Now the curry is ready to be served.
