Homemade Dinner rolls(Bun)


Ingredients

All purpose flour -3 1/2 cups or 500gm
Sugar -1/4 cup
Butter -1/4 cup or 56gms
Salt-1 tsp
Yeast- 2 1/2 tsp
Water(Luke warm) -1/2 cup
Sugar-1 tsp
Milk (Luke warm)-1/2 cup
Egg-1
Olive oil- As required


Preparation:


  1. Mix together half cup of water,2 1/2 tsp yeast and 1 tsp of sugar.Set it aside for 5-7 mins
  2.  Once the yeast  rises,add luke warm milk ,room temperature butter,salt and egg to the mixture
  3. Mix together sugar and all purpose flour
  4. Now add the dry mixture part by part to the wet mixture and knead to a ball.The dough should be soft.
  5. On to a bowl drizzle some olive oil,transfer the dough to the bowl and keep it in a warm place to rise for 1 hour
  6. After an hour the dough should be double the size
  7. Make the dough into 12 equal parts and make it into 12 balls
  8. To prepare a baking sheet/pan,drizzle some olive oil and spread all over the pan
  9. Now add all the balls to the pan,spaced accordingly so that they dont stick
  10. Cover and keep it in a warm place for 30 more minutes
  11. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees and bake them for 12-15 minutes
 Note:
 If you want a hard top buns you can add some oil on top of the bun
 If you want a soft top buns use egg wash and spread over the top of the bun
